Working Overtime may Increase Risk of Heart Disease

Many people assume that if often work overtime or overtime will more often give a negative impact on overall body health. And the assumption seems true, because if the work excessively and continuously will be harmful to your health in the long term.

People who are used to working an average of 11 hours or more a day will own a 67 percent higher risk to suffer a heart attack or even death rates than people who used to work in standard time, which is seven to eight hours a day. According to a recent study published by the Annals of Internal Medicine, states that those who work between 10 to 11 hours a day have a higher risk of 45 message.
"Schedule of work issued by companies are often overlooked and underutilized well as early warning signs or for some heart diseases," said Mika Kivimaki, a professor and researcher of epidemiology and public health at University College London.

The length of time worked for each person may not directly visible or have a negative effect on health. According to experts, the most common heart attack due to one's lifestyle is wrong. People who work overtime or beyond the normal limits usually tend to eat less healthy foods, is also active as a result tend not to sit too long to do the job, lack of sleep and more often experience the stress of his job.

"Someone who works too hard or have a habit of working overtime may be more likely to eat fast food is unhealthy, unhealthy snacks and is also inactive. Some things are not as major factors that take a long time to get a heart attack," explained Stephen Kopecky, MD, a cardiologist and professor of medicine at the Mayo Clinic.

However, the increased risk of heart disease suffered by workers overtime is not only influenced by the duration of their work but also influenced by the type of their work. According to Kopecky, farmers in the countryside and other outdoor workers to work for periods ranging between 12 hours to 14 hours longer, but instead they tend to have longer life expectancy or more longevity.

Cause Tumors In Heart

Tumor is defined as a condition or type of abnormal growth is both a cancerous (malignant) or that are not cancerous (benign). Tumors that originate in the heart of growth process is referred to as the primary tumor that could be formed in every major network as the heart and can be cancerous or noncancerous.

Cause Tumors In Heart

Origin tumors that arise in some other parts of the body organs, such as lung, breast, blood, or skin tissue, which in the next process spread (metastasize) to the heart called a secondary tumor. Tumors of this type are always cancerous. Secondary heart tumors in the heart is usually more common in the ratio between 30 to 40 times than primary cardiac tumors are rarely encountered though.

On the type of primary and secondary tumors, anything can happen in the sac surrounding the heart (pericardium). While the tumor in the pericardium can squeeze (constrict) the heart, which causes the charging becomes less good. Chest pain even more worse could happen to heart failure.

Heart tumors may occur in the absence of early symptoms beforehand, for example, tumors on sebgian people can cause heart failure, heart rate suddenly becomes abnormal rhythms (arrhythmias), or decreased blood pressure suddenly caused by bleeding into the pericardium .

Primary heart tumors that are not cancer, including small can still be removed surgically, and through this operation is usually successfully cured.

As for primary tumors that are cancerous can not be removed even through surgery and the consequences thereof, if surgery is usually fatal.

Rheumatic Heart Disease and Rheumatic Fever

Rheumatic heart disease is a condition that describes a situation in which the heart valves become damaged due to the reaction of rheumatic fever.

Rheumatic fever itself usually begins with a Sore Throat (also called streptococcal pharyngitis). Sore throat is a throat infection caused by most Group A Streptococcusbacteria. This is one of the most common bacterial infection of the throat.

Incidence of rheumatic fever or rheumatic heart disease commonly called very rarely found in the United States and other developed countries. However, little by little continues to be the major cause of cardiovascular death during the first five decades of life in developing countries.

What are the symptoms of rheumatic fever?

Symptoms may include the following points:

- The occurrence of fever
- The existence of pain, tender, swollen red joints
- The emergence of pain in one joint is always moving
- Heart palpitations
- Pain in chest
- Shortness of breath

How can I prevent rheumatic heart disease?

People who are infected or who have had rheumatic fever are more susceptible to recurrent attacks and heart damage in the future. That's why this penderit will get antibiotic treatment continuously for days or months, perhaps even a lifetime.

Antibiotic prophylaxis whose function is only to prevent the occurrence of endocarditis sekarng no longer recommended for patients undergoing procedures for handling abnormal gastrointestinal or genitourinary.

Beware of Sick Sinus Syndrome Symptoms

Sick Sinus Syndrome is an unusual case of a very varied from the normal pacemaker function. This syndrome is known to be one cause of heart rate slows down permanently (sinus bradycardia) or the occurrence of a full blockade of pacemaker and atrial (sinus arrest in which the impulses from the pacemaker failure occurred when creating the atrial contraction).

When cases like this happens, the release of pacemaker that is low in the atrium or even inside the ventricles will usually be changed.

Symptoms usually occur

Some kind of sick sinus syndrome is common does not cause significant symptoms, but heart rate that starts low and settled causing weakness and fatigue. Even the case of a person fainting may occur if the speed becomes very slow. While heart rate is often perceived as very high patient as palpitations.

Further Diaknosa

Tib pulse suddenly slowed down, especially the irregular pulse or pulse is varied without changing the activity of the patient can lead a doctor to diagnose sick sinus syndrome. Characteristics Elktrokardiogram (ECG) is one case in particular abnormal abnormal cases that occurred more than 24 hours and consider a collection of symptoms usually help the doctor make a diagnosis.

The recommended treatment

Patients who have symptoms are usually given fake permanent pacemaker. The function of the pacemaker is used to accelerate the heart rate began to slow. In most patients who sometimes have a faster rhythm, medication assistance is also needed, so the best and highly recommended therapy is the implantation of a pacemaker along with the administration of drugs such as beta blockers slow down the rhythm or verapamil.

Coronary Heart Disease

Coronary Artery Disease or commonly known as coronary heart disease usually occurs early signs of fat that settles or assembled in the cells lining the walls of the coronary arteries and can clog or block blood flow.

Usual fatty deposits called atheroma or plaque usually develops gradually and is spread in the branching position of the two main coronary arteries, which surrounds the heart function and of course the blood supply to the heart. The process of atheroma formation is called atherosclerosis.

This could have protruding atheroma in the arteries and can cause the arteries become narrow. If it continues to be a large atheroma, atheroma part of this will be broken and the pieces will fit into the bloodstream or even blood clots may form on the surface of the atheroma. In order for the heart muscle can contract and pump blood normally, the heart muscle (myocardium) of course requires a supply of oxygen-rich blood from the coronary arteries. Therefore, if a blockage that occurs in the coronary artery condition continued to deteriorate, it can cause ischemia (reduced blood supply) to the heart muscle, and it will if left unchecked can cause heart damage.

CAUSE

Coronary artery disease classified as type of disease that can attack all races, but the highest incidence rate found in the class of white people. Although the race itself seems not a major factor in one's lifestyle.

More specifically, factors that usually increase the risk of coronary artery disease are:

* Program diet rich in fat,
* The habit of smoking, and
* People who are lazy to exercise.

PREVENTION

The risk of coronary artery disease course can still be avoided or reduced by taking the following measures:

* Stop smoking or at least reduce the level of dependence on cigarettes,
* Lowers blood pressure and constantly monitor,
* Reduce and maintain ideal weight remains, and
* Perform regular exercise.

Definition of Heart Palpitations

Heart pounding

The situation is heart-pounding sensation that usually cause unpleasant feelings caused by the occurrence of an irregular heartbeat. In some people who have a heart-pounding conditions, no known cause. But in some other patients the occurrence of heart palpitations are caused by heart rhythm abnormalities or commonly called arrhythmias.

Here are some common types of arrhythmia:

Arrhythmia which refers to the condition of the heart rate is too fast or too slow even arguably irregular.

Tachycardia is a type of fast arrhythmias, the occurrence of the heart rate faster than 100 beats per minute.

Bradycardia is the arrhythmia is quite slow (the occurrence of heart rate slower than 60 beats / min).

Fibrillation is a condition of the heart rhythm that occurs irregularly.

Premature contraction is one heartbeat terjdinya process earlier than normal and this condition can lead to feelings of the heart rate is imposed.

DISORDERS (abnormalities) in the auricle (atrium), the heart chamber (ventricle) and the abnormalities that occur in the heart's electrical conduction system (SA, Sino-Atrial Node and AV, Atrio-Venticular Node) can lead to arrhythmias that cause palpitations (heart pounding ).

Atria which consists of the right atrium and left atrium is the heart chambers that are part of.
The right atrium receives venous blood from the charge of the whole body and pumps it into the ventricle (chamber) right.
While in charge of the left atrium receives blood that contains lots of oxygen from the lungs and pumps it into the ventricle (chamber) left.

Ventricles or chambers commonly called a heart chambers are located at the bottom.
Every normal heart has two ventricles (right ventricle and left ventricle).

Premature contractions is the process of cardiac impulses are isolated and occur earlier than expected. Premature contraction will usually rest, when the heart's electrical system "resets" itself. Contractions that occur after the break is usually stronger than normal contractions before. The patient will usually feel the contractions stronger as palpitations.

Best Tips to Overcome Heart Palpitations

Palpitations or the language of medicine is called tachycardia is a condition or the occurrence of heart rate exceed 100 beats per minute. There are many things that cause abnormal heartbeats, such as impaired blood circulation problems, high blood pressure or cholesterol increased and could also be due to lack of potassium and arrhythmias.

The most common symptoms of heart palpitations include the onset of discomfort in the chest, difficulty breathing, pain in the chest, and head feels lighter.

Here are some things that could be a clue if you experience heart palpitations, among others:

Avoid stimulants

Stimulants can cause stimulation of the heart rate by speeding up the body's metabolic system and releases adrenaline. So, get used to not consume caffeinated coffee or tea, types of soft drinks are also types of energy drinks, and medicines that contain caffeine.

Consumption of Potassium

Low levels of potassium in the blood will cause the occurrence of symptoms of tachycardia, so if the food you consume daily contain no potassium in sufficient quantity, try to take multivitamins or supplements that contain lots of potassium. Bananas, potatoes, rice and vegetables are some foods that contain lots of potassium.

Meditation

Meditation is one person in achieving peace process itself. If you are familiar with less process of meditation, it means you have to learn how to rmerelaksasi your body, and of course this is the same as you learn to lower the heart rate.

Do not Worry

Anxiety experienced person can make the body to release adrenaline that the effect can cause heart beat faster.

Sports

Mild exercise is performed regularly and is great to gradually strengthen the muscles of the heart muscle. But remember, do not get used to exercise excessive or too heavy because it will have effects that are not good for the heart and prone to heart attack.

Heart Palpitations - Causes and Treatment Method

Palpitations is a term in the medical world that describes the state of irregular heart beats, the heart rate which is in a too strong or has an abnormal speed. In general, each person will not realize or feel the difference in their heart rate, heart rhythm during their walk normally, in other words we are not going to feel the pulse of our heart in living their daily life routine. But when the rhythm of the heartbeat beating too fast or irregular, there will be an uncomfortable feeling in us.

Please note that a relatively normal heart rate at rest ranges between 60-100 times per minute. The athletes who regularly perform rigorous exercise with a resting heart rate 30-40 beats per minute and someone who rarely or lack of exercise usually have a heart rate 80 beats per minute. Whereas heart rate ranges on average 70 times per minute.

Palpitations state generally only lasts a few minutes, but in some cases the situation can last for hours or even days old. Sometimes some people who experience heart palpitations a few times a day, while some others may only occasionally.

Causes Heart Palpitations are very diverse, including:

Heart disease.
In general every person who have palpitations have no history of heart disease. A small part of the state due to the occurrence of palpitation of heart rhythm disturbances or so-called arrhythmias.

Atrial Fibrillation, which is a type of heart rhythm disturbance that occurs on both sides of the auricle, and this is one type of heart problems that cause palpitations.

Conditions in the medical world called Atrium Paroxysmal Tachycardia (ATP) is also one of the causes of the heart beat faster (often twice the normal speed). It is usually associated with the occurrence of interference between the chambers of the heart's electrical conduction with each other yng that lasted for several seconds or minutes before finally returning to normal. Problem of other disorders such as heart valve leakage, coronary heart disease and other heart diseases can also cause palpitations.

The influence of emotions : the occurrence of emotional response to a stressful and emotional events.

Physical activity : a person who did kegiatanfisik with intensive capacity exceeds the capabilities

Anemia : anemia can cause the heart muscle of oxygen shortage.

Magnesium and potassium deficiency.

Food : the habit of smoking with a relatively heavy level, the habit of drinking alcohol, consuming excessive caffeine (from tea, coffee or cola drinks), preservatives, flavoring and food coloring, and some other drugs (eg asthma medication).

Hormonal problems : the occurrence of excessive thyroid hormone production or an increase in production of various hormones that occur in pregnant women.
Adrenal gland tumors menjdi also cause palpitations.

Treatment of Heart Palpitations

Palpitations cause is not associated with health problems or certain diseases usually do not require special treatment. Indeed there are certain drugs that can reduce interference palpitations, but these drugs are generally only required if the palpitations are caused by health problems or illnesses.
